Billionaires VS Poverty in India

Indian economy is growing steadily with the annual growth rate of more than 8%.India is one among few other countries which overcame the global economic recession more faster without more difficulty. The economy of India is the eleventh largest economy in the world by nominal GDP and the fourth largest by purchasing power parity (PPP).India ranks 4th in the country wise in dollar billionaire list with 49 billionaire’s. India has the most number of billionaires after the US, China, Russia and Germany. India’s 49 billionaires have a combined wealth of $222.1 billion —about 17% of India’s GDP. Two of the top 10 billionaires are from India. More ever India is proud to have approximately about 1, 00,000 millionaires.

Despite of rapid economic growth the other side of indicators about Indian economy is not pleasing. In contrast to India’s steady growth rate indicators suggests that 41.6 percent of population in India is living in below poverty line. One quarter of nation’s population earns less than 20 rupees per day. According to the World Bank report by 2015 as estimated 53 million people will live under extreme poverty and 23.6% of population will still live under the income dollar 1.25 per day. This number is expected to reduce to 20.3% people by 2020. A study by the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative using a Multi-dimensional Poverty Index (MPI) found that there were 421 million poor living under the MPI in 8 north Indian states of Bihar, Chattisgarh, Jharkand, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. This number is higher than the 410 million poor living in the 26 poorest African nations.

As economists suggests, soon India will be among the leading economies of the world but still there is a long way to reach that landmark.

Yet another double Century for Sachin Tendulkar

India’s master blaster Sachin Tendular scored his 5th double century in the second test cricket against Srilanka. The cricket icon Tendulkar holds the record of scoring highest number of centuries in Test cricket as well as in one day internationals. The elegant and legend batsman of all times Tendulkar’s cricket records are countless. Tendulkar possesses nearly all major batting and other records in test and one day international cricket matches. Sachin has so far played 167 test matches, scored 13539 runs, hit 48 test centuries and 55 test 50’s. He has such staggering numbers in both Tests and ODIs that it's conceivable some of those records may never be broken. Thirty seven years old Tendulkar with more than 30,000 runs in both test and one day international’s under his name and almost all major and minor cricket records in his long 20 years of international cricket career is still going strong like a 20 year old youth. As long as the prayer’s and wishes of billions of cricket fans all around the world exists, the mile stones and records of this run machine little master Sachin will continue with out end.

India unveiled the low-cost computing device that is designed for students. The new computing device will cost only 1500 Indian Rupees approximately $35. The Central Government of India is providing 50 per cent subsidy on this computer to schools students of India. So, for school students it will cost Just Rs. 750.The computer, developed by a research team comprising IIT professors and experts from IISc, does not have a hard disc and uses Linux. But it has every function, which a normal computer has. After unveiling the worlds cheapest computer India’s Human resource development minister Mr.Kabil sibil elaborated its features .This touch screen device with 2GB of RAM has support for video web conferencing facility, multimedia content viewer, and computing capabilities such as Open Office, and internet browsing with flash plug-in, JavaScript. It also has wireless communication for Audio/Video, Cloud computing option, remote device management capability, multi-media input output interface option. Since there is no hard disc, the computers have lesser memory, but one can use add-on memories. One cool feature is support for a solar charged battery, which will definitely help India’s students from rural areas.It is expected to be introduced to Indian higher education institutions from 2011.

Download Indian currency symbol Font

Recently government of India unveiled a new international symbol representing its currency, the rupee. The design was chosen in a competition won by a teacher Uday Kumar at one of the country's Indian Institutes of Technology. Uday Kumar's design was chosen from a shortlist of five and he was awarded around Rupees 2.5 lakhs (approximately£3,500) in prize money. The symbol is a blend of the Devanagari ‘ra’ and the Roman capital ‘R’ without the stem. The parallel lines at the top (with white space between them) make an allusion to the tricolor Indian flag and also depict an equality sign which symbolizes the nation's desire to reduce economic disparity. Foradian Tecnnologies has developed a font to help the computer users to type Indian currency symbol using computer key board. They have chosen the grave ascent key (a key just above the tab key in our key board) for typing the rupee symbol using key board. Indian Train Masala

Indian train travel is the treasure for pleasant memories and terrible happenings. If you ever been traveled in the trains of India you’ll know what I mean. Journey from southern most part of India Kanyakumari to Indian capital New Delhi takes a minimum of 24 to 32 hours and it almost covers four states, four or five languages and cultures.

It is the mix of almost all religion, culture, socio economic class and languages. Despite of the fact Hindi is the national language, you can see passengers who does not even know the single alphabet of Hindi.

Beyond the diversities of culture, language, religion, class and status there will be a lot of interaction with the locals. Persistently you can notice a wide variety of graceful and eye pleasing happenings and more often terrible incidents. In one side you may notice a group of youngsters actively involved in shuffling the play cards, while in the other end you could notice the students who were dedicated themselves in discussing school topics. More ever you can feel the heat of healthy arguments from senior citizens. Minor quarrel to major fighting’s are very common.

In late hours of working days you could see office going house wife’s who were seriously involved in cutting greens and vegetables for their  night cooking.

You would find the meaning of sharing of living in this train journey. Routinely you can see people who deliberately shares their food, water, seating’s, dailies, magazines and more, to whom he does not even know the name of that stranger.

Surprising friendships to romantic loves are the specialties of this train travel. There’s vendors’ moving through the carriages selling whatever you need. Snacks and drinks can be purchased from the people whom wander up and down the aisles. Frequently you can feel sweetness of melody in the song of beggars who made it as their habit of begging from ongoing passengers in the train.

More ever you’ll be absorbed by the fascinating sights as the train pass over river, pretty landscapes, plantations, forests, rural villages and in to the stings of numerous tunnels.
